Rowanthwaite Coin LoreDearest, you may have noticed the golden glint of a coin here in the village.It is not an ordinary coin, and it cannot be found in ordinary pockets.Look closely at the face of the coin.
You will see the Sacred Rowan Tree, her roots deep in the earth, her branches reaching for the Rowan North Star.Legend says the first coin was not minted by machines, but found tangled in the roots of the Rowan Tree after a particularly starry night.
It was warm to the touch.Mr. Wise Owl examined it (with his best spectacles) and declared it to be a “Token of Reciprocity.”In the old ways, we never take without giving.When we take a wish from the Well, or a story from the shelves, we leave a token in return to keep the balance of blessings true.What happens when you toss a coin?You might think your coin simply falls into a digital well.But here in Rowanthwaite, your coin works hard:* 🕯️ It buys oil for the Lanterns (keeping our website hosted and bright).* ✒️ It buys ink for Mr. Wise Owl (so he can scribe the Gazette).* 🪵 It puts logs on the fire (keeping the chat rooms and gathering spaces warm).* 🍪 And occasionally... it buys a biscuit for a hardworking Founder (and maybe some honey-mead for the Faeries, though we try to limit them!).A coin tossed is a light kept burning.It ensures that the gates of Rowanthwaite remain open for every weary traveller who needs a place to rest.The Giver’s BlessingIt is said that those who toss a coin into the Sacred Well find that the coin often returns to them in the real world.Perhaps as gold, or a stroke of unexpected luck, a sudden smile, or a moment of perfect peace.Expect miracles, coincidences, synchronicities, unexpected blessings and favour 🌿Will you help keep the Lanterns lit?
